Disagree big time. Polls matter, votes in past elections influence future ones.
People are much more likely to vote in a close state than a one sided one, if they think their vote doesn’t matter they won’t vote, which has a butterfly effect on all future elections in that state/district or what have you.
Votes, even ones that have no chance of changing an outcome, STILL MATTER
im also very much against rationalizing inordinate amounts of time spent on political "awareness" with self importance and the perception of having meaningful impact
Sorry if you feel like what I’m saying is noise, I try to live my life in accordance with all my beliefs. I vote, I stopped eating meat, I try actively to reduce my own emissions.
I’m not ‘acting’ a certain way, or trying to use this topic to belittle others, I really do care immensely about all this stuff, it’s actually quite awful.
And you don’t have to change your mind or agree with me, I appreciate the fact you’re having a dialogue with me. That’s good enough for me.
And again, I’m not even saying any of that as some type of point in an argument, I just take issue with the way you’re describing me and my motives, because it’s not true.
almost like they dont have a direct sense of how fucked the voting system is and how dropping one vote per season within the system is certainly not the way to meaningful change if one wants it
