wait, are you proposing the riots and violence and looting and stuff is caused by police escalation? so if there was less enforcement there would be less rioting?
also i think we should unambiguously declare that rioting and looting is bad and wrong. associating BLM with rioting is what they want you to do. the correct narrative is to claim the rioting is unrelated and just evil opportunists doing evil things imo.

like the conservative tactic is to draw a false equivalency between rioting and protesting and claim supporting protesting is the same as supporting violence. if your position is "rioting is bad but there would be less rioting if you had less police and you stopped shooting black people" you better believe people are gonna come yelling "AAA INSOM SUPPORTS LOOTING! no I'm proposing that the riots and violence are in response to years of horrific police brutality, and also ever increasing wealth inequality, poor covid response, and many other factors
yes it should be separate from BLM and peaceful protests but the police goons and federal goons are trying really, really fucking hard to make that impossible. eventually people will push back.

of course their escalation has contributed to how long this has gone on, it could be fucking over by now if the federal government would simply give them a few breadcrumbs and say the right words. instead they're telling them to get fucked and like it. it's disgusting.

your position is technically correct. if there wasn't a problem there indeed would not be looting and violence. and yes i agree its a big problem thats been a long time coming and trump is just adding fuel to the fire.
however i am skeptical that "giving a few breadcrumbs and saying the right words" would quell the protests, or the violence. especially since there isnt a clear leader to appease here. since its decentralized many people will still be dissatisfied especially with what they may consider token measures. lots of people want big systemic change, i think.
and then again from a political point i think its dangerous to express any support/solidarity/understanding of the looting and violence at all. also i think its actually wrong as well. violence is violence, and the people harmed by it aren't the guilty party here.
