Auto Chess

Dope ty. I will be playing auto chess again now

can't tell if sarcasm
but you can see all other player stats and builds and what units they use the most it's actually so nice to have.. also tells you how much you suck compared to everyone else playing :')

This game is for faggots as far as i can tell

right up your alley then

o lol i thought it was more like dotabuff for autochess

trying to use it now i see its more for ingame shit, i just wanted something where i can see like overall player stats. id enjoy autochess more if i had a stat site that showed me the right moves and i didnt have to watch an autochess streamer to get it

i mean it gives you each game breakdown and what the player's unit lineup was, their synergies etc. i dont know what youre looking for.. like what they did round by round..? it shows how often a unit's been picked etc.. so you can look at the leaderboards and see what the most popular units and synergies are. i suppose you'd have to actually read guides to get gameplay tips though :s

yeah global stats. so i can see like the draft/pass/win rate on t5 heroes for example

leaderboards work too i guess, actually still v good cuz i can look at unique strats. i just wanted global trends lol

this is now my underlords thread

by the way i just wanna say wtf valve

ive always been a big fan of custom game scenes, and i dont fucking get why valve put the effort of adding that to dota only to not give a single shit about it. the layouts still ass for custom game browsing. not enough people play and i dont think its because the games aren't good. they could've done so much more. and then a goose comes along and lays a golden egg and what does valve do but make their own version outside of the custom game browser.

just seems like its clear valve presented this shit to drodo studios and they took it the wrong way because the company that owns the game they made their game in decided to take advantage of that fact. and now im sure way less people are gonna play customs. they couldve tried to get people to try other customs or something.

Because of the reddit custom games thing 5 years ago

wwhat thing?

When the custom games workshop first went live it was very clear they were building up to something that acted as a kind of storefront

Think of how there's a market for cosmetics and these cosmetic creators in tf2 or dota 2 can get paid

Or kind of like a Steam Greenlight within Dota2

However when they started to push forward with this idea Reddit (really, all of the internet I guess) threw a fit

https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/aboutpaidcontent

Started with Skyrim mod monetization, very clear where it was all going, but people couldn't see it and they saw this as Valve poisoning the well with monetization or being greedy or something. Skyrim mod users genuinely believe they are entitled to all of that work for free. Some creators also spoke strongly against the payment scheme or felt it would overcomplicate things within the community (dependencies and such) blah blah blah

Anyways what happened was this blew up in Valve's face and they had reddit costing them millions of dollars in spam emails and shit like that. So they walked it back and didn't touch it again

But from that moment on they didn't really do shit for the Dota 2 Custom Game scene. It kind of died a slow death. Gabe has always said that money is how the community steers work, and the community announced loud and clear that there was no money here. Valve listened to what the community was saying and decided there was no value here

TLDR they were trying to make something cool, reddit got angry so they trashed it and stopped trying

They're definitely fucking retards if they can't see how there could be money in it if there were good games. People want to reward creators which is how the autochess pass came about. I dont see that for any other mode. anyways besides that this billion dollar company could really afford to fucking pay some people to make some good games instead of making what they think are good custom games. instead they just throw shit out there and they get upset when people dont use it. like holy shit

unfortunately i like the changes so im gonna play this game over auto chess but i really dont like this move. valve's always talking abotu community tools and the power of the community but they arent actually dedicating development time towards creating things that empower the community to make better shit. they do it time and time again and its fucking embarassing...like did they learn nothing about how they killed the tf2 servers? that like it really is as simple as obfuscating a screen and matchmaking people to your own shit to kill shit off. you have a gigantic userbase by sheer virtue of being the first PC DRM platform, just fucking teach people how to make things and make things easier to make and make it easier for people to find out theres custom games worth playing and everything will work out. theyll make some insane and sometimes very entertaining content and you can find profit in a way that rewards the creator

Yeah when Valve updates dota they could have a dev update that lets custom game writers know why their game broke and how to fix it. For instance, a list of variables that changed names.

The new Underlords game is pretty slick. I am amazed that Valve got something done in less than 2 years actually. And the practice mode is a nice way to learn withiut getting your ass kicked over and over while you learn the game.

yeah atleast it handles great

not so hype about it being designed mobile first but theyll get around to making it feel a bit better

feels like you didn't really read my post

but yes I think valve's slow and incompetent and can't deliver anything anymore

which I'm sure they're well aware of and working on but whatever supremacy they had has been slipping fast for quite a while

Sad but true.
