Didn’t even buy starfield, have been meaning to torrent it but it’s 100gbs
i think the last AAA game i bought was doom 2016
play turbo overkill
those motherfuckers at sega have creative assembly and the total war formula cornered. there was a rumor that they're laying off 40% of their team after the absolute catastrophe that was hyenas, the limp wh3 release/dlc, and tw pharaoh instantly being irrelevant. hopefully that cocksucker rob bartholomew bites it
goddamnit it paradox make a real time battle sim
I buy those games years after they come out when I get an itch to play them and after they’ve had 50gb of patches/expansions and the full bundle costs like $40 or whatever isn’t that what everyone does
im in deep i've been playing tw since i was 8 years old when the OG shogun came out. i waited until Immortal Empires was updated to get wh3 as i had no interest in the chaos realm campaign. as someone who owns all of the games except the sagas, pharaoh, and 3 kingdoms it's incredibly frustrating to see old issues that were fixed with patches in previous games reappear in new releases. the amount of 'tech debt' CA has incurred is staggering and sega refuses to let them spend a year or two actually updating the code and framework instead of just throwing bandaids on anything that pops up
I still haven’t got WH3 only played WH2 for a bit and this was after WH3 was out already for awhile because WH2 had more content and fixes at the time. I’ve been playing the games for awhile too I bought Rome total war at target when I was a little kid back in like 2004 or 2003 don’t remember, played most of the good ones from back then like medieval 2, and empire/napoleon, but stopped playing the newer ones after empire/napoleon until a couple years ago, I would just reinstall Rome or empire when I got the total war itch but the newer ones are cool
I played WH2 and most recently the Rome remaster or maybe the remake, or maybe it was Rome 2 I can’t remember
My mom had some friend who was super into medieval total war 2 and medieval history/warfare in general and she would bring her laptop over and we would play, she wasn’t good at controlling the units on the battlefield so she would like tell me where to put units and how to fight the battles and I would move the units around as like a 10 year old kid. Blew my mind back then flanking with cavalry and using actual tactics where before I would just bum rush the enemy army playing Rome as a kid
Empire is also goated I wish they would release more games with guns like that although I guess they covered most of that time period with empire/napoleon and the expansions. I wonder if they’ll ever get really experimental and do some WW1 stuff but I don’t know if that would be fun with the historical lack of clear winners during large scale battles
empire and napoleon with darthmod is a lot of fun, without it the ai is just too incompetent at forming a proper battle line and just gets shot to pieces while walking around
medieval 3 is probably the most requested game as it's the most dated compared to rome/attila and shogun
Have they done Chinese total war game yet or only Japan
didn't play that one apparently it's pretty good
Might do that one next
Just got it will update
xcom is creepy the beginning scene is basically Canada
