America as a whole is just agonising because there’s so many great thing about it and you could be SO MUCH BETTER, SO SO SO MUCH BETTER. It actually hurts to think about (believe me, so could Canada, but It’s not as bad).

Finland has cool index funds but the workers do not control the means of production so I couldn’t classify it as socialist or communist

Alot of it is the shitty diet as well. USA is all about how to fix the problem when you have it. There isnt a mentality of prevention. Eat gloriously great hamburgers and die gloriously large with a giant gun in your lap like a real man
Okay, because for me those are the two best countries on earth and I think it’s not even all that close. To me that’s a perfect balance of socialism and capitalism done right and it’s really encouraging to think that at least somewhere, somebody is doing that.
Yeah diet is a bad problem. One thing that perpetuates it, (for example I lived in one of the poorest counties in north STL that was a food desert) is poverty. For example, where I stayed the 2 places in walking distance were a liquor store and a convenience store. It’s the cheapest food I could buy - and you know the shit that they sell there.
Tobacco, alcohol, and gambling industries also target the most at-risk/impoverished/minority communities as well but i dont wanna get into that
Yes and those places are ripe for good stuff. I dont see why nobody plants a bunch of apple tree (how can you fuck those up) and a bunch of quail per house hold. Boom thats a lot of food. The ghetto areas of america are still white picket fence homes with land that can be cultivated
I know some Maoists in St. Louis who are actually ALL about food independence. They have community gardens and shit and it’s awesome work that they are doing.
I think executing public figures would be way, way too traumatising and would do more harm than good. I do think making promises that you use to get elected, and then not doing those exact things should be considered a form of treason, and that treason should carry a life sentence without parole.
It’s hard to imagine stupid dumb petty Republican senators doing treasonous bullshit if there was a hard precedent set that THEY WILL FUCKING GO TO JAIL, FOREVER, if they do it.
