Dota alone isn’t “fun” as it’s not a VideoGame, but a sport. It’s about learning and improving.
When played with others it becomes a social activity - but still not a VideoGame, much like other sports.
My favorite topic to discuss.

“Improving” is a strong word though and I don’t think playing Dota actually involves any improving, but an illusion of such. The game is designed by psychologists after all.

Valve really went out of their way to trim down as much of the “core” knowledge required as possible so stupid people unwilling to invest time and energy into critical thought (the kind more likely to squander money on 40 dollar crystal maiden arcana tiaras) would play it.

That’s why they made all those cliffs with eyeball logos on them and let you see spawn boxes and tower ranges and let you have unlimited resources.

Remember when the decision of whether or not to upgrade magic stick into magic wand was a critical juncture?

if you dont like a kind of game in this forum you can mute it by pressing the little circle button on the menu. this buttons also on threads like these and u can press it to mute shit u dont wanna read and clean up the site for urself if ur a 2 topic pony

and if you REALLY dont like that it shows up on the category page (theyre hidden from /latest) you can complain until it gets moved to the forum games category or deleted idk we’ll see if people like it

also you can set it so the homepage is /latest in your profile if you wanna just hide threads.
