I have no interest in leader boards or achievements. Playing a game I like is it’s own reward. Winning games makes it even better. Maybe I am a minority, and the Valve psychologists know better. I just want to play and have fun.
I guess you are kind of right. I refused to join a very good WoW guild purely because they weren’t public logging (WoW’s “leaderboard”) just yesterday.
Maybe I should visit a Psychologist.
Valve is trying to create a way for people to get some kind of reward for winning as a bonus. I understand that. But it does not apply to me. I don’t care about “hats.” I just want to play and have fun.

Honestly the weekend tournament thing is a cool idea and goes along with the battle cup thing they were doing in dota which I thought was pretty nice
Problem is I just don’t know how many times I am going to buy a ticket and not feel like I’d done something dirty by giving them more money for a game I already spent 20 bucks on

The Artifact streaming NDA will drop at 4pm on Nov 17 2018 (PST). That means people in the alpha will be able to stream in preparation for the beta on the 19th.
We’ll be having a fun artifact party to countdown to the beta!

Nov 19: Play with beta players! Challenge us and we’ll play you in some fun formats and events.
