I like mtgas draft system. Having two different drafts, one for gold and the other for gems, means I get to play multiple a week. If I can’t go infinite in comp I usually get enough wins where one gold draft gets me the gems needed
this artifact game doesn’t seem fun to play at all
Well reddit seems to hate the game so I think that’s a good indication that it will be good
That said, I don’t really know why I bought this. I don’t even like card games
Maybe not fun to watch other people play, but I think it will be really fun.
You don’t like card games but you do like climbing leaderboards, so perhaps that’s the reason?
Yes I have an ego issue
I’m sure they’ll add a third-party leaderboard even if valve doesn’t.
Valve will add a leaderboard – they did it for DotA. They’d be stupid not to.
Climbing Leaderboards is not an act of egoism - it’s male nature to be competitive
- Jordan Peterson
Nope it’s unhealthy egoism - especially in a stupid videogame
I think valve is avoiding destroying their game with a competitive constructive ladder (traditionally what people think of when they talk “leaderboards”) and is instead going for something like a weekly tournament system where players will be sorted to the top via placements in consecutive tournaments or something
IDK i’m hoping it’s more interesting than what we’ve had lately
Recent card games I’ve played had ladders which mainly measured how much time a person was putting into the game and how much they wanted to nolife it - I think all of us here got top leaderboard positions and then just stopped playing because we didn’t want to keep putting in the time. This isnt a skill based design
I still think a leaderboard for “Who Spent The Most Money” is a good idea…
Hahaha. Loserboard u mean
I think not. A game like DotA or League has millions of people playing, it’s only natural to want to know how good you are compared to others. If you’re the tenth best player out of 4 million that’s an achievement in my book.
There are healthy and unhealthy outlets for your competitive spirit and desire to improve yourself
Videogames and ranked ladders in particular play on these instincts and manipulate u into spending time on things and caring about things that are massive wastes of time and “unhealthy” in a sort of complicated sense of the word
I’ll try to ignore the hypocrisy of your thoughts vs actions.
Which actions?
Indeed.
