i got mildly curious so i logged off to see the ewiz posts
i think that you saying i could be scum because you perceive a lack of consistency in my emotional control in this game and in the blog thread, is an actual intelligent thought and it doesnt make me mad. because there is actual thinking there thats not level 0, unlike the other idiotic stuff earlier that i read.
to answer your question, i managed to contol my emotions there because i could empathize with the emotions nyte was feeling, so thats how i managed to "townread" her despite her "scumreading" me.
This is my exact train of thought I posted earlier:
I put pressure on a weak opening, threw a lynch on to make it a bit more convincing as actual sus, and then he goes nuts and plays in a very anti-town way. It could still be poor emotional control, but I'm not sure due to his interactions in the blog.
And that's why I pinged iaafr for his response and reasoning
no, ewiz reaction tested you by putting pressure on your opening and you responded badly. hes fosing you now for your reaction, not for the opening alone. he seems competent so i would be scumreading him if he was still on your opening.
I don't think it's just the syntactical push on me. That combined with what looks like a pocket attempt on one player (if wolfy is town) in an argument and a scumread on the other player (before he even had the syntax thing) with him making it explicit that he has no reason to do so makes it look possible he's setting up a double town lynch he can play dumb on.
Given this interpretation and Wolfy's post about empathy, I'm leaning more towards wolfy town and Ian scum.
Typically, I wouldn't think they could both be scum defending each other. However, the explicit no reasoning could imply they're both scum: ian tries to join Wolfy's side against me, but then could claim it wasn't his fault if wolfy flips red because it was just "who he likes/dislikes" that gave him his reads. Wolfy then town leaning Ian could excuse him if Ian flipped red as "well, I was just frustrated, so I clung to the one person on my side."
I think the "both scum" possibility is way less likely. Most likely scenario for me now is wolfy town and Ian scum.
Osiris, in particular, seems to be slipping under the radar with no one townleaning or scumleaning him, despite decent engagement. I'm not sure where I fall on him. I'd like his scum/townleans with explanations
sdad is coasting. im on board with the way magicmagininja interpreted wolffy opening (as in i dont necessarily agree with the interpretation but i agree that he may reasonably have the interpretation). osiris is trying to lynch ian for the dumbtell, but i dont lend credence to that read because as a mafia play it exists only to declare "i am not a team with magicmagininja"
regarding your strategical theorycrafting for ian's play while it is plausible he can be chainsawing wolffy (mafia defending town) i dont think he would do so by explicitly pushing on you, especially when there is lynch pressure from osiris.
Which post? The philosopher one? If he's genuinely frustrated town, which seems more possible now with his empathy explanation, he's just continuing his raging and posting (what may be, I'm not decided on whether his question is helpful) distracting shit because he's upset with the game and doesn't want to deal with it.
His bpd choice, however, could be sus. Bpd is characterized by an intense fear of losing people close to you, then engaging in behavior that will make that inevitable. It could be seen as an excuse for how he responded, which is also employed by people with bpd to excuse their maladjusted behaviors
