What/how should I roll persuasion?
Check your persuasion skill on your sheet it will give you a modifier # . Add that to the dice roll

yea based on your proficiency and stats it should tell you a number.
Basically how it works is skills have an associated stat. You add your modifier to it. If you are proficient at it. You get to add your proficiency bonus.
At level 1 the proficiency bonus is 2 it goes up as you level. as will your stats.
A proficient skill is something you selected at character creation. You get some for your class and 2 for your background.
