In the long term yeah. If I was given the choice to only brush my teeth once a day for a year, I’d choose before going to bed, if I was given the choice to only brush my teeth once a day for 1 day, I’d choose in the morning.

You definitely should get a 2nd opinion. Did the dentist take X-rays? You should ask for copies of the x-rays and go to another well-reviewed dentist or a friend/family’s recommendation and check w/ that person.
It’s obvious that something is not right. Either your previous dentist was incompetent, or something worse.
Also, the amount you’re paying is way too much if you have dental insurance. IF you have no insurance, I suppose that sounds about right. Your insurance should be giving an allowance, and provide care givers w/ a recommended amt to charge, some dentists are shady and go way above that amount to squeeze.
Dental insurance is only for the government dental service here but regardless of that, we do have high cost protection which basically means that once you go over a certain price, the cost of each consecutive procedure is halved.
For health care, the cost of each consecutive procedure is removed.
