there are a lot of people within the communities that are protesting that do not know of war. that do not know of its horrors; the horrors of humanity on the scale of war/war-time conflicts.
there are a lot of people in the communities that are NOT protesting, that indeed, might be anti protests, currently, that have some, or even a lot of experience with these horrors (having been involved in conflicts outside of the US). i believe they are not more actively involved in the protesting because of this intimate relationship with "war" and a natural opposition towards shitting in ones own nest, so to speak.
but, through repeated exposure to physical force and brutality, these government forces at play will condition and strengthen the untested, uninitiated, inexperienced members of society. hell, many or even most of the people acting as agents for the government, themselves, have no taste of "war", but they do have taste of enacting brutality, excessive force, oppressive force, authoritarian control over others, etc.
it's fucking terrifying, to be honest.
