i started having trouble crying at stuff in my teenage years tho i guess some of the makoto shinkai movies got me a bit teary at the climactic emotional moments
who knows, not my call but current efforts seem like not much more than pissing in the wind when we have the opportunity/potential to protest thoughtfully and get a lot done
like what change has occurred since the protests have begun or will come as a result? You can be defeatist and argue that anything is ineffective in the big picture compared to like a silly scenario where the powers that b suddenly become self aware and fix the world
but it seems to me like socioeconomic reform like defunding police to focus on providing services and whatnot for the poor/disadvantaged would be a massive win and doesn't really seem as unrealistic as you portray it, atleast to me
I haven't gone out and personally confirmed but it seems like there's usually two types of protesters, the ignorant and the aware, and as long as the aware aren't doing everything they can to push rallying for reform or spread awareness/knowledge about it then i can't really blame the media for focusing on the ignorant shit
yes it is a big ask and i get that that kinda thing usually occurs with a catalyst and is hard to form out of nothing, but im just thinking we dont have the time to wait around for someone or group to make a fuckup big enough for people to get REALLy angry
