i think the like-minded internet clustering effect also screws with people's scales of the relative popularity of what they believe. since u only hear from people who agree with u u end up thinking that ur take is right too much. at least be polite to people ur disagreeing with like come on. its not so fun to insult people when ur not in the perceived majority. but everyone these days perceives that they are in the majority.
the internet has definitely fueled people to believe in wrong things more foten
maybenot more often but in greater volume
before peope could only be wrong about 5 or 6 things, but now they have the capacity to be wrong about hundreds of things that they wouldnt have ever otherwise known about

no i would just make sure they are equipped with my ideology (the best one) and are thus immune to other ideologies. the problem is all the other people with other ideologies thinking that way 
i genuinely want to eliminatethe internet from my life

i sure wish those guys would bring their kids up with better ideologies
i wanna go back to the days of forcing yourself to have incredible reading comprehension because the only thing you can learn from is some anti-decipherable text
Here's another example.
Anti-vaxx has had a resurgence due almost entirely to facebook. These people are connected with others like them and the platform feeds on their own personal brand of derangement in order to drive "engagement" aka you spend a bunch of time in these "moms with insane opinions know what's best for their kids" groups until you feel like you can't engage with the normal people around you any more and facebookers are the only ones who understand you
There's still avenues for that found on namafia (not mentioning names)
