I wasn't really comparing those scenes vs any other hypothetical scenes, just saying they do a lot more than just "female empowerment" or whatever, they're perfectly fine
especially in a show so much about life/death/birth/family lines/succession, etc.
oddly enough a certain writer was pissy about daemon being well liked
and an article came out between the leak and the official

i can think of many other scenes I'd cut first to replace with it though
agreed. overall i think its fine but if we're just gonna have a show dictated by writers girlbossing it then its shitty
well the good thing is that it's a fully fleshed out story, and HBO and GRRM (or if he didn't, he probably will for the rest of the duration when they see how successful this season was) will have the final say on pretty much anything, so I'm not sure how much damage they can realistically do.
also i wouldn't cut any of the birthing scenes either. they were all character building. my point was the perspective of the writers and whats to come
yeah I missed the bit about them cutting out a Daemon scene, that's ridiculous
also anyone else think old rhaenyra actress plays the character far worse than young one?
my girl and i really missed the younger actress and were always thinking how much better scenes wouldve been with the younger one
they could have maybe just had the Aemma one happen off screen, nobody really said anything profound beyond just "oh man, this is bad, what should I do? you should do this thing! okay lets do that!"
I dunno i'm tired and I haven't rewatched it yet

plus it set up rhaenyra to sort of loathe being just another lords wife......... which was undone like an episode later
so maybe it shouldve been removed
i felt this way at first but not after watching the full season, I don't think I could have found the younger Rhaenyra believable as a mother (especially of boys that old)
at least not one who was actually loving and empathetic towards her children
i'll admit that this is my only issue with young rhaenyra playing the old one as well.
being a mother wouldve been an issue, BUT i think in the things to come she would play it far better, and as i said before some scenes woudlve been better already
shes just too stale... maybe that's by direction?? but iunno young rhaenyra was so charismatic
the scene where Vhagar/Aemond flies over Arrax/Luke while chasing him was fucking wild tho
