also in regards to all the spitwad bashing, i wanna say you guys should stop. be it my own personal experiences with him (messaging him for weight loss advice and opening up about weight struggle, since he had overcome that, and him being extremely compassionate and giving me great advice which ultimately did end up help me lose 100lbs) to stories ive heard from other people, he seems like a pretty good guy, not deserving of this hate.
he had every right to sell nadota, it was HIS, not ours. if he wanted it taken down, that sucks, but maybe he didnt want that chapter of his life immortalised forever, like many others? maybe it was legal reasons, maybe the henry cunt hired a lawyer spammed him with c&d letters. we dont know.
instead of being mad it got taken down, try to appreciate that it even fucking existed at all. nadota was fantasic, i loved posting there. the drama, all of it. he was the main reason we got to enjoy that, at all. we woulda been on the fucking playdota.com forums otherwise, try to imagine that alternate reality.
maybe he needed the money? maybe a million reasons. do you really think he made ANY MONEY off of nadota? it was a passion project that he kept alive for EIGHT YEARS. the way people talk about him here pisses me off, yall should knock it the fuck off.

people do have a little bit of a sore spot that he sold the website without telling anyone to some random who killed the site, but i'm sure most people still like the guy

it's not about spitwad but the buyer who destroyed or withholds a huge amount of cultural value, be it technically whomever's
grant claimed that just "somebody" bought it and gave up on it which doesn't make a whole lot of sense, also he claims to have the logs - which is wierd as he didn't even come to the site after 2014
the forum couldn't sell for much at that point but still don't see henry having the funds, also wasn't this after even reddit turned on him when someone exposed him in beehive style for what he is - buying off dead nadota couldn't salvage anything

probably because of all the negativity that spawned there? For example, grant's personality really manifested itself there. grant went on to do some terrible shit. Grant's antics were regarded as gospel on nadota, so even though some good came from nadota, a lot of bad also came from it. Spitwads hands off approach to administration is easily somewhat responsible.

Plenty of other shithead personas were created there, including mine. it was an overall negative contribution to society, i'd say. even though i benefited from plenty of entertainment by using the site. but i mean, if he made it profitable for himself idk why he deserves to be thanked for it lol. money is thanks enough
