i once referred to bulba as a “bad person” in nadota and was met with a lot of backlash for not being specific. i would like to do that now 
first, there was a time in like 2007 in DXD where he lastpicked pudge and dual laned mid with me, who picked SF early on and claimed mid, with no outcry from him (i suspect he was afk)
he kept typing unhinged shit in chat about how he wouldnt let “fucking trash” play mid. okay whatever it was forever ago and he was young. this was during his fake identity ‘sam baird’ days where we all thought he was a rich white kid. slightly before team teen titans and his rise to becoming a succesful semi pro.
next there was the team USA incident. as some of you may remember, during an MYM prime nations, team usa won in a stunning upset, beating team ukraine which was essentially navi. as a young aspiritng little dota player, i found this to be extremely inspiring and it filled me with pride and joy. i was so happy.
so, on #irc naive little old me messaged bulba to congratulate him and also ask if i could try out for the team. pretty naive of me, heh. i was like 16.
to my delight he told me yes! i can try out, he knows who i am and thinks i deserve a shot. you cannot imagine my joy. i was almost crying tears of joy. not only did this guy respond, he said i could try out, then he started bullying me, laughing at me, and telling me how fucking stupid i was, and also shit at the game. that i would never be like him, and i should give up, and that i had been pranked.
yeah, that hurt quite a bit.
lastly, there is a more recent story, from like 2015. i was captaining a rather okay team for low level amateurs, and i had a really hot shot young midlaner who had just moved from the phillipines, and barely spoke english, his name was Bryle, but thats not what it was back then.
i obviously recognized his talent. and tried to design strategies to work with that. we did some cool stuff, like picking him dire side bristle mid and having the offlaner or support bot stack ancients for him to clear. shit like that, whatever,
anyway we are in a scrim channel and to our surprise a high level stack wants to play us. its bulba, mario, fogged, and i cant really remember the others. i think ush was one.
anyway, we are thrilled to be playing them, the first game we get shit on super hard, but they agree to play us again. enter scrim 2. at the start of the game, they pause without warning, we politely say nothing, after about 10 mins, we ask what is up? they dont respond. after about another 10 mins, they unpause with no warning and the game is on, we dazzle huskar them and bryle shits all over their mid, we snowball off of that and end up crushing them, the game isnt even close at all. somehow we end up throwing and losing on a base race because we got too excited and threw, but 90% of that game was us slaughtering them. i think kills was like 20-55
despite them winning, not one of them types gg (as they did last game) and they all leave. when i ask about game 3, someone tells me they will never play us again so as not to “waste time with trash”
not unreasonable, but still speaks to the character of bulba and his buddies. basically, hes a pretty fucking shitty person. fuck you bulba, i cant believe i asked you for a picture at ti4 you weird dumbass. never meet your idols, lol.
