I agree the folks on the left have a naive view of the importance of English as our lingua franca. But I also think we are more than capable of multilingualism and should create the right incentives for English as the lingua franca (this pretty much already exists), as well as incentives for monolingual anglophones to acquire other languages.
This type of thing is the norm in the world
iirc the children of Spanish speakers have a trend of becoming monolingual anglophones just like the groups of immigrants in the past dropping german/italian/whatever. so idk why people worry about English. this is business as usual.
i think this particular brand of white nationalism, jew blaming conspiracy theory stuff that originated in /pol/ is just a really clever mix of facts you probably didn’t know or haven’t heard before (which is typically very endearing for the reader) mixed with really aggresive opinions and assumptions, that’s really all it is. I can see why people get sucked into this but I just can’t.
Like, that bit about 98% of CEO’s being Jewish (I think that’s what was posted), or all the slave ship owners being Jews (we’ll just accept these as factual for the sake of this post, I haven’t researched that at all nor do I want to) can easily be explained by much simpler things, such as “nepotism” and “cronyism”, I think when you make the leap to “grand conspiracy to eliminate the white race/the illuminati” is where you lose me and where most people start to view you as mentally ill.
I do find this topic fascinating though, even though it’s a bit repulsive.

Like feel free to write an entire thesis on this shit, I’ll probably read it, I just really really doubt I’ll ever buy into it. Most of the worlds problems can simply be explained by the word “greed” and it’s usually not that complex either.
