For the record as a person who was cheated on and lied to and then told the truth on separate occasions
It felt better after hearing the truth (or some semblance of it)
Before knowing the truth it was sad because it was confusing and I felt I had lost something valuable and didn't really understand things. Harder to move on
After learning the truth there was a bit of a jolt but it was ultimately easier to move on knowing that I hadn't actually lost of value and didn't actually want something there any more
