I've been doing my best to eat at maintenance. I will resume weighing myself on April 15th. Hopefully on that day I will still be around 225lb. My goal has been to slow down the weight loss and make it sustainable

Try the 2 finger diet

If you’re gaining weight from lifting (at a calorie deficit) it’s gonna be muscle though

you can also stay in the same weight range while drastically changing your body composition

if you lost 30 lbs in 40-45 days a lot of that is just going to be water weight and not fat

I really think keto is inferior in every way and you should only do it if you’ve tried other methods first and struggled

Yeah atleast for me I was able to do that and lose weight but probably put a lot of stress on my body in the process

Lost muscle and gained fat since I fully fcused on work and ate sweets since like January but I'm still atleast 30lbs down. And that weight loss happened before Q3 of last year.

my understanding is you need to eat a 3500 calorie deficit to lose one lb, and some of that will be muscle

also eating carbs makes us retain water so when you cut them out for long enough you generally do lose about 5-8lbs of that

you probably know all this but yeah, my guess would be you probably did better post keto than you gave yourself credit for, and could have simultaneously lost fat and gained back water weight for a while

it really doesn’t matter though, it’s impossible to know for sure and the only thing that matters about a diet is if it works for the person doing it

Yeah keto helped me fix my diet because I never went fully back in carbs until late. During the end of that journey I struggled with consistent weight loss, it was probably related to what you're talking about. You'd also be right that's probably not as good of a weight loss tool as anything more traditional, if it's good for anything it's that like body sculpting lol

I never did the work on my legs that I had to to burn the fat deposits and make em look good but the rest of my body has been leaner than whenever I've been at this weight, very happy with the results
