the universe is fucking huge i find it hard to imagine we're truly alone
but we are alone in the sense that it doesnt seem like a good chance we'll be able to make meaningful contact with other intelligent life if theyre out there

It just really comes down to evolution not even knowing space exists at all as a reason that most life forms just don't meaningfully leave their planet
That was a dumb thing to say evolution doesn't know anything but yeah

People like to gloss over all the real challenges and assume that given the large number of potential planets that it's happened but I think the possibility is greatly overestimated
