i mean i agree with the notion its unlikely humans will ever make contact with such extraterrestrials
i just, by gut and based on no particular math or evidence, believe its likely that similarly intelligent life exists somewhere in time and space in this universe
I think if contact does occur it's through bridging alternate realities

there's billions and billions of viable planets out there, and all you need to have a chance at intelligent life evolving is some tiny ass bacteria

well we could have already passed our great filter moment in 1962, everything since then has trended strongly in the direction of us not going extinct
by the time climate change is severe a few hundred thousand ultra rich people will have figured out how to cope with it, probably by using poors as slave labour etc.
