Yeah, instead it's a missed land drop and no turn 2 play. Seems pretty good to me: swinging 6/5 trample turn 3 is pretty fucking big

Til it’s bounced or heartless acted and then ur at 2 mana turn 3 and oppo is playing sultai or clover with crazy ramps

And if you're worried about mana disadvantage from getting bounced, why would you be playing a tapped single land in the first place? Clearly you're only doing this kind of shit if you're playing a quick aggro deck

Man that was just the first 2 mana instant sultai removal spell I could think of

Remember I play sac and aggro decks

idk seems a lil gimmicky but i dont really know standard

I assume gimmicky fast stuff like that would always have a place in Arena for ranking: better to win 3 minute games 60% of the time than to win 9 minute games 90% of the time for ranking.

Ye, but you'll still have two mana on turn 3 to counter it because you flip it at their end step. Chances they saved two Mana for removal and you don't have 2 Mana counter if you're running Jeskai or izzet seems low

I bought the Eldraine blue mill singles and we ended up drafting WAR. Holy fuck, what a fun draft that was. Even everyone in my group that always say "fuck planeswalkers, all my homies hate planeswalkers" thought it was amazing to draft. Probably because what makes PWs so frustrating is having to build around them/sideboard for them (sideboards in EDH fucking suck), but that's all built into the draft.

Since it's likely done with printing, I'm gonna snag three sealed boxes while I can cop at $80 each.

I'd bet the sealed prices for WAR double in two years max: it's a really fun draft and I highly doubt there will be many planeswalker-centric draft sets at all. Probably gonna sell one when it does hit the double, keep holding one for the long haul, and maybe draft the third again at some point in the future.

I doubt we'll see the incredible short term gains like sealed Tarkir had, but I'd bet it paces with sealed Dominaria or better

Oh, I forgot the most bullshit reveal on this weekend's Friday night magic: one of my roommates went to help his parents move that afternoon and found a box of some magic cards from a set he drafted 4-5 times in high school. The set was original Zendikar. Fucker pulled out 5 misty rainforests, a scalding tarn, and 2 verdant catacombs. All in lightly played to near mint. Fucking nuts and he hasn't gone through the other boxes of assorted drafts he did in middle-high school

I went to buy some random packs to crack at the LGS that gets tons of MtG stuff because they've been around since the 80's and never gets distributor fucked, but all their money gets made from Scout uniforms and model trains: no one goes in their for MtG stuff and they never price update so I was getting mystery booster packs at $5 up until I bought them out 2 weeks ago. They also do buy 7 get 1 free, so I just grabbed 2 AKH, 2 GRN, and 4 RIX packs.

That cleared their loose GRN packs, so they went to open the next box and told me I could just have the buy-a-boxes they didn't give away cause so many boxes got sold as packs. First, they hand me this loose:

Dope card, of course, because godzilla shit owns. Then they hand me a sealed BAB promo so idk what's in it. I crack it and see this:

But wait, that pack was way thicker than 1 card...

They gave me the set of all the IKO BAB promos they got lol.

Sextuple Godzilla baby

Oh wow that’s a come up

dang i didnt know it had this shit

Stop bumping stuff

just cuz of that im gonna necro 5 more thereadxs

I’ll beat ur ass

Ikoria was big creature themed, so they also put alt arts of some other creatures as godzilla shit. I have a Rodan, a different godzilla, babygodzilla, two different spacegodzillas, etc. They own
