WotC taking a dump on reactive spells in recent history means only proactive strategies are in meta even in modern. Sadly any control decks that might have existed are smothered by ramp/aggro/combo

Also not only are reactive spells shit but the actions are incredibly ridiculous

So, I went to pick up a box of 2XM at my LGS. They do barely any magic: mostly model trains. I got there 5 minutes after opening and they'd sold their 4 sealed and cracked 3 for singles (at $13 each, by the way). She offered to sell me a full open box at price with the box toppers. She gave me all 3 sets of boxtoppers. This is what I pulled
