i've had reasonable success with gruul stompy but im not playing against super dank high iq tryhards all the time. collision/colossus has actually given me some legs against the first krasy boy that hits the battlefield but you sometimes get these really awkward hands where you just stumble a bit too much and it doesn't help that wotc has deigned to throw around life gain like it's nothing

Shocks, pains, filters, untapped if you control a basic of either type, and the 1 colorless for one of each for two different colors are all pretty cheap right now. And fetch reprints sometime this year. The battlebond tapped scry lands aren't bad either.
