china and india are problems because of their massive populations and being later to industrialize they 'need' fast and easy power to provide electricity for huge swathes. the paris climate deal allotted them more time to cut back iirc which is why trump backed out but in reality it was still a fair deal for us because we have the technology, infrastructure, and labor to build and run more green options. we still blow them out of the water on carbon footprint per capita
