Monkey pox

An interesting point but I don't think there's really any way to quantify it easily even if we suddenly became a meritocracy. Because again, merits are only possible through opportunity, which these disadvantaged groups by default have less access to

I agree that Accepting a certain percentage of them into your company doesn't fix this. Which is why I'm saying this "who's hirable or worth accepting into my college" shit is pointless and honestly could even be construed as projection of insecurity regarding these facets. Affirmative action in regards to accepting someone sucks, but taking action in proper provisions for them might do something.

People are capable of critical thinking (and they do) but why would they critically think too hard? It's a goal to work towards, something to live for - a reason to wake up in the morning. People don't have much in this world anymore, it's all they have left.

You can critically think yourself into either side quite comfortably, both sides are very convincing and make a lot of sense.
notjones is as right as Insom, Insom is as right as notjones. They're both making perfect sense and have good arguments, as long as you don't think too hard about either position.

Give $5 MILLION DOLLARS to every BLACK PERSON IN the US. WHO GIVES A FUCK LMAO

this idea of "meritocracy is bad" because people start out with uneven wealth is so fucking stupid. PEOPLE START OUT WITH UNEVEN INTELLIGENCE, PERSONALITY, PHYSICAL TRAITS. Wouldn't that be worse to meritocracy than ANYTHING else.

that's the WHOLE FUCKING POINT: the POINT OF THE ECONOMY IS TO TECHNOLOGICALLY ACCELERATE AND THUS ACHIEVE PROSPERITY AND TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT.

Because it's a muscle that can be toned like most others and is the underpinning of what makes someone superior to someone else in today's society. Which you might agree with, along with the idea that people don't truly value this

If you're hiring people for your company you want the guy who will critically consider the aspects of his role and his applications to a guy who will simply aim to complete work given to him

You've reached a point where you have two correct and conflicting answers.
It's an impasse and no progress can be made from here.

Not true by the way. The point of the economy is to make money for the people who run it and fulfill their needs. The points you make are the marketing pieces for the economy and the economy itself doesn't suggest they are true -- given that it is very good at stonewalling it's own acceleration, prosperity, and advancement because the contributing members of it prioritize their Q3 shareholder report to the future (and thus are not investing in potential non-short term risks)

Like do you think R&D departments are making discoveries that truly accelerate our growth or are they just A/B testing to find out what iteration of a product will make more money

can any of you use autocad for architectural purposes? it's fairly basic, mostly office layouts, furniture plans, and design for basic renovations. have a vacancy and some personnel dollars for short term remote work

I only work in AutoCAD 97.

I appreciate the Discourse and hope nobody gets too pissed at my thoughts. just had that stewing for a while and wanted to share and be the pushback to facilitate more constructive discourse like I previously mentioned.

I'm sure if everyone didn't know the GOVERNMENT WAS FALLING APART people would incentivize their INVESTMENTS TO PAY OFF IN THE FUTURE.

You've completely argued for a system that A) slows down innovation artificially through threat of government force and then B) complained that the only thing people care about is short term profits.

Its definitely very little to do with helping the big picture and a lot Todo with ego and me securing the bread for my theoretical family and biz

I believe our accelerationist society would find a way (if not capitalism)

People hate startups because they move fast, break things, and focus on monetary gain through bullshit products. These are all symptoms of a system designed for profit over actual accelerationism

diego looking very clean in the world championships
