They can go ahead and make a central office in Bolivia if they want the point is to put a high enough % tariff on foreign businesses and imports that any business can do the numbers and realize they will save money operating within the US even when paying the higher wages
unfortunately lobbying is already effective on an individual company level, and all of them would be glad to band together and make that kind of idea never happen
Maybe they incorporate in Delaware or Nevada or Florida or Texas or whatever, it’s still in the US
they usually already do that if theyre competent lol
Only the largest of mega corps even take advantage of incorporating in foreign countries anyways, for a vast majority of people it is just too much of a headache to incorporate in a foreign country to operate in the US
definitely, and i suppose you have a point in that these mega corps would have the biggest nightmare in terms of moving compared to the small players
As a holder of a foreign bank account in Europe it is a hassle
i've heard some horror stories from euros about that kind of stuff. you do also have a point in that if their market is primarily US based it would be even stupider to move
i concede (to you only) and will sheep your tariff idea because it fits my prerogative as a Democrat, Liberal, Socialist that wants to employ ideas that are good on paper but will never happen
Smaller businesses are really just contracting out with Chinese companies for manufacturing of their shitty goods or contracting out with Eastern Europe for their shitty tech support jobs, just force them to do that in the US, yeah it costs more money they will have to charge more for their goods and services but it’s better overall for the health of the economy, and the actual health of it so we are no longer a “zombie economy” like notjones says where companies are full of middle managers who browse Reddit for 3 hours a day
Basically just roll things back to the 50s-60s when the middle class was at their peak
I agree so long as the government invested in manufacturing solutions because building that complex prod chain is a huge issue here (many catch 22s), not to mention the quality of foreign manufacturing in the first place (remember that Steve Jobs iphone quality thing?)
Ban the ownership of single family homes by corporations and foreign nationals, in fact ban any type of single unit house ownership, the only type of housing foreign nationals and companies should own is large apartment building development and development of suburban subdivisions
100%
as well as taxing empty homes, or several home ownership even
These are all things that any idiot can realize would only be a positive towards the long term health of our economy and citizens but these ideas have been destroyed by the ideals of globalism, “free trade”, and globohomo in general
Property taxes do that in effect
I have a lot to learn about that shit
Property taxes are kind of wack as it does force you to have to make some money off the home every year even if you live in the home
i know some people who are basically in indefinite renting agreements with airbnbers that don't want to sign a lease or buy property, but is it so bad to have it this way?
