It's based on a true story.
About a real woman.
No it's not bro. 1) there are no good woman chess players, and 2) the story after the beginning part is just bobby fischer's rise and I think the game at the climax is move for move his game
Grow the fuck up
bro you just ruined anya taylor joy for me
Taylor swift is ugly and annoying
she did that
My apologies.
I have heard so much about Beth Harmon that I assumed that she was a real person.
But there are some good woman chess players.
oppenheimer was a really good watch, and ludwig did the damn thang with the score
this guy really nails it compared to people just chasing clicks like critical drinker. the witcher (at least the books and games) is above all else a story about people and their relationships to each other. in a world with prophecies, monsters, elves dwarves mages and all kinds of fantasy bullshit it's core is still about creating believable characters and exploring the dynamics between each other. it's a masterclass in creating a rich lived in setting but not letting the world drive the plot and instead allowing it to be used by the characters, much like peak game of thrones
i'm not surprised the talentless hacks at netflix either couldn't recognize this or didn't care. it's just sad to trash such a great chance with an incredible ip. there have been like 2 maybe 3 good fantasy adaptions to film
Good Omens 2 is out on Amazon Prime.
Will check it out.
So far so good.
That British humor still makes me laugh.
And my religious upbringing makes it so intense.
i thought this was going to be a shittier version of Drive
instead I got a hauntingly beautiful, gorgeously shot masterpiece with central themes of fatherhood and how our actions echo throughout time. totally unexpected. totally recommend this movie. perfect score, perfect tone, perfect cinematography, just perfect.
you cannot watch this clip and not want to see this amazing movie. it's impossible. anyway I know for me it's the only reason I gave it a chance. 3:20 is my favourite shot of the movie, with the colour changing on his face and him sitting at that intersection. idk how you make a gritty crime thriller so goddamn beautiful, but it is, and they did. and I love that fucking music. pure art. it's from the same director who did Blue Valentine
i love the long cuts in this movie
yeah the cinematography in this really blew me away
like this movie has no right to be as good as it is
