in public i just make general anti-government jokes bc americans love those
esp hating on the city gov
I don’t know what difference online is honestly - It’s a matter of principle imo
Nobody like the government - anywhere, at any time.
the pressures exerted based on the theories you’re referencing are exerted by individual people united simply by their class and camaraderie.
to say individual struggle cannot result in systematic or collective change is in of itself, a liberal and not a marxist idea.
Are you implying Marx doesn’t say the collapse of capitalism is inevitable?
Maybe I’m wrong but a materialist understandings of the world doesn’t really fit with “big man theory” or anything like that. You’re not special and if you don’t kill the booj someone else will since the contradictions of capitalism eventually force the proles and their oppressors into open conflict
i never said i was special, and idk what big man theory has to do with this. marx did say that, he also said mankind was the most powerful force of change.
it’s not like conditions magically get worse under capitalism, or people randomly get organized into revolt. people do these things.
apathy sounds good until you get older and regret your apathy
false
I regret my youthful anti apathy
i feel like apathy is the correct position with respect to a lot of political stuff unless youre actually willing to fully commit to some particular thing you care about with time and resources
just having opinions on stuff is so impotent
voting is mostly impotent too and i wont let all the sunk cost fallacy victims convince me otherwise
I do agree to an extent with this because I believe all the important elections are pre-decided.
Gonna switch subjects but this reminded me that Marx did say capitalism was superior to previous forms of societal organization. He also said the bourgeoise lead revolutions of the 18th century were nice and good. Ppl usually ignore this
by what?
The existing government, deep state, etc… - and no, I’m not talking about “Le Jews!!!”.
