NAMafia Artifact League!

wait, are you implying that Artifact is good? If so, that’s laughable.

There are people on reddit complaining that the game doesn’t have dailies. Dailies.

The game doesn’t give you free cards, that’s fine; but if I remember correctly, what was thrown around was “we want to make a digital game that feels like a TCG, we want you to feel ownership of your cards” and what the actual result is a contrived scarcity, un-tradeable, “you do own your own cards because you can buy/sell them through us, the middle-man”. The only thing akin to an actual trading card is the use of a real money paying mechanic, which is most certainly manipulative.

the only thing the game has going for it is it’s somewhat mechanically different with the a -> b -> a -> b -> a and the three lanes; beyond that it’s REALLY, REALLY bad.

I’m sure they’d love to have trading but they can’t because people will create actual gambling websites and lure small children into them

You not being able to give your cards away when you have your monthly “I’m quitting - for good this time!” moments is a price I am 100% willing to pay

I am without a doubt positive I can think up 3 implementable ideas that put a halt to gambling that don’t involve “making exorbitantly more money”.

yeeeeahhh but they could add it for steam friends… idk. it’s valve, they can say you have to be steam friends with this person for x amount of days/months seeing as they put a 15 day hold on trades without authenticator etc

gwent did it first with three rows and alternating playing with pass/initiative

Valve have a 10% tax on all sales. There’s no way its not just as bad as HS

yeah, you’re right. so this game has all the above and incremental lane creep RNG?

The game has tournaments, deemphasizes constructed and ranked ladders, doesn’t have dailies or dumb bait progression mechanics, and it makes a lot of people on reddit really mad.

Those are all good traits

Yeah but thats not enoguh to make it fundamentally good as it still Preys on people who buy cards

Basically the game treats you like an adult and a LOT of people can’t handle that

Now im not saying the games good so don’t mistake my words for that. I’m just saying I think I’m better than you on a really long, roundabout way.

Removing direct peer-to-peer trading was a good choice and solves a lot of problems

But they do need to remove the fees and the stupid fucking tax on the market

It treats you like an adult in the sense that your a loser who pays for trading cards instead of trading cards with friends during school lunch

Do you goys think if I move to some island in the middle of the Pacific I will be able to buy valve digital video game cardboard without paying sales tax

try it and report back

for science

Are you guys reporting your Artifact Keeper Draft wins to the IRS?

Like, I don’t have an issue with dailies and goals. If they add those, they’re solacing whatever people enjoy them, it’s not like they’re a serious detriment to the game. They don’t require actual design or major work in implementation. It’d probably benefit their bottom line.

Instead, they just tax you to play the game and buy/sell cards.
