streamer(entertainer) and player(helps his team win games) should probably be divided unless you want to live in a fantasy where streaming doesn't effect your team practice
if you have freetime and a desire to stream go for it. mandating streaming hours while progaming is two jobs
Not wanting to stream what amounts to less than 2 hours a day when people will watch you play muted with no chat interaction beside playing mango bay once a stream at the midway point is nuts
Edit: when you are already playing the game for 10 hours a day
I do think it is more than that tho, specifically new twitch staff are miserable to interact with compared to when eg and twitch were the same entity
yea arteezy really has it tough
i am a hater tbh
plasma still crazy af boy
Yeah couldn't agree more. For literally 3+ years pros have been complaining about these clauses, going all the way back to 2015's C9 CSGO team and 2016 EG
So the only conclusion I can draw is that greedy owners just don't care what their players want and only do what -THEY- think will make them the most money at the highest probability
you dont think players have a responsibility to accept less money for not streaming to help their team win? most humans just want the bag, especially skilled divas like arteezy and s1mple
if your team's contract hinges on streaming you're not a professional investment youre a brand outreach opportunity
oh yeah I could totally see that actually
i think if you're playing a sport like hockey or football where you get a guaranteed salary that's setting you up for life, yeah.
in dota2 where income isn't the slightest bit guaranteed? idk
I think it depends on the team as well
now arteezy is the exception to this and not the rule, but he's always struck as someone with a certain degree of anxiety and maybe streaming in front of 10,000s of people many of whom insult him relentlessly just isn't his thing anymore and flat out bad for his mental health
i bet they sign very similar contracts
i don't, personally... minimum wage in the NFL is like 700$k
minimum wage in the NHL over 100k
the MOST lucrative of the esports contracts out there were in that category, only I have far less confidence in those being payed out and players not being fucked over by clauses within clauses they didn't realize when signing. the whole thing feels much more predatory
my point being I fully support a player with bargaining power taking his destiny into his own hands, whatever that destiny may be.
