I haven’t even seen that clip yet but his thought process videos on his own channel are kinda intermediate gold, a lot of stuff you’d think you’d hear elsewhere but generally don’t I feel
Example of the first video in that series that I like, an intro where he started off against 400 elo so it’s really simple compared to other sttuff and ramps well into later. I’d just find the 1100+ vids or your level for IM “gold” but I’m not gonna look rn
Also his last video is “you thought I was gone?” 4 days ago lol..
Gonna use this rn in my game. thx.
Thanks. Bookmarked.
I never watched his speedrun vids. But everyone says they are the best.
I plan on watching them soon.
BTW I am playing @ironstove in a chess 960 game now.
He is very aggressive.
I hope to end my losing streak against all of you.
So far I have lost to:
@faZ
@Vanilla_Town
@big_ass
@jester
@huber
and Osiris (rip)
I keep metaphorically insisting kkat comes back to my place and watch some movies but he keeps trying to make excuses so I need to press harder. I won't give up.
If I lose to kkat that means I lose to everyone on that list too
Don’t believe his lies kkat is actually good at c960
Certainly more experienced than others it seems ![]()
I blundered big time against Osiris. Had a good chance at winning.
Nma would only play a 3 minute blitz game at the time which I suck at. (he was in a Dota draft.)
Sophie and I had a glitch where the game got deleted, but it came back and I got a forfeit for cheating (?) It was even before.
I ran out of time against Huber, but he was winning slightly.
Faz and asoul beat me fair and square. Both better than me no question.
I think I would have to play Faz for the claim at best NAMafia chess player. Ian was also pretty good iirc
Incidentally this also maps to mafia game impact
Almost like there is some underlying statistic at play here
Faz is good. He is on my Chess.com friend list if you want to challenge him.
I find all the cheating conversations fairly interesting from an academic (non-harassment) viewpoint
I think the guy was actually being harassed which is wrong
But there is something interesting. Site admin I don't know if you remember in TF2 at one point there was some stuff that came out about hacking, some top sniper who was a bit unhinged was making a bunch of high-profile hackusations, it was very similar to the Kramnik situation.
What came out was that people can often be both very high-skill in terms of individual abilities at something, and extra interested in experimenting with unethical methods of getting an advantage.
Like the profile of a hacker was more like - someone who trains aim trainers all day and is already a god-tier aimer, but has some moral shortcomings and tries hacks in competitive matches sometimes. It's not some dumb guy with no skill that downloads a tool and clearly cheats in his bronze lobbies.
The other detail was that when it came to high-profile hacking like this, you really needed a similarly high-skill player (who may have also experimented with hacks) to evaluate. There is no way the average or even pretty good player can make determinations when evaluating the play of a .001 percentile player.
So that's why it's interesting to me when Magnus or Kramnik says somebody is cheating. They have an intuition that a normal person does not have for what "normal" play looks like. I generally trust the intuition of people who spend 10,000 hours in something, just don't know to what extent Kramnik is completely losing it (there's probably some substance to some of his claims about some people, but who knows about a case like Naroditsky).
There's also an interesting detail that Chess.com apparently has a fairly significant list of GMs and pro players who have been flagged as cheating by its system, and Magnus and others have seen that list. This is why Magnus had his big thing against Hans, it was widely known among GMs that Hans was a cheater (whether he cheated in that particular match or not).
So for Danya. Honestly there are little things that make it sound kinda possible. Chess.com apparently had him on a list where he had to run a screen & video capture for internal review whenever he played. He came up in the time of the internet and was very young & could've experimented with this stuff. I wouldn't be too surprised and also wouldn't consider it a big deal. I think the harassment was more of an issue and is distasteful regardless of whether he was cheating probably
I played tf2 with two different guys that were accused of hacking on gotfrag and a third one that faked their own death but none of them were cheating
They had everyone who played Titled Tuesday have cameras.
He even went all out and streamed with six (!) cameras to prove he wasn't cheating.
And then last December, Daniel played in the Blitz world championship.
Over the board. No computers. He finished in 10th place.
I think that proves he is really that good.
elaborate
We need to hear this story tonight
I think my point is that people can be really, really good and also cheat sometimes
I agree he's good and was good when playing without cheats
But he could've also cheated at some point, who knows
Kramnik is a nut job. He reported every single player that beat him for over a month.
He's a legend for this
