situation where stopping a duel as town is advantageous:
you have a strong read that the current duel is town v town
you have a strong read that another town correctly suspects a scum player, so you’d rather have the duel be that duel for the day
the ideal use redirects a lynch from town to mafia at the cost of your own life
activating the ability confirms you as highly likely town (because it’s generally a way worse idea for mafia to use the ability), so you have more clout among the players who must find a new duel
and it’s a fun mechanic because it’s hilarious when people use it erroneously/badly
no he can’t be involved in any more duels and automatically dies afterwards
New Suggestion: Come up with a pointless audience mechanic and we’ll all pretend were in a colosseum
What about this - the person that wants to get lynched can’t duel others, and if he gets lynched he kills the guy that duelled him + 2 random players.

Oh, @iaafr, you definitely need to put a window of the day that has to pass before duels can be declared. Last game was kind of ruined by town opening up with an immediate duel every single day just ot get rid of players they don’t like to play with.

maybe i’ll make the window 12 hours from day start to 24 hours from day start (maybe 36 but i feel like it’s likely people will end up dueling by 24h anyway)
Well, you should just end the day whenever you can’t duel anymore, since there’s no lynching. I just mean you can’t duel in the first x hours of the day
