not exactly happy with the discourse people.
alright i might downgrade the server once i get home to save on costs. now that it seems to be more managable with this dumbass rebakeing shit.
if the issue is memory slowly building up over time theres a p old ruby bloat bug that’s still around, i think i mentioned it to you before rora.
i did a little googling and sam (the non annoying discourse guy) wrote a blog on how it can specifically affect a discourse application in June of last year so it might still be around
https://samsaffron.com/archive/2018/06/13/ruby-x27-s-external-malloc-problem links to https://www.mikeperham.com/2018/04/25/taming-rails-memory-bloat/
the blog itself doesnt really have a solution in it but it sounded like they had some stuff planned for potential fixes. it might be worth reading that link if you wanna know more. ill see if i find anything else
its not like a ruyby bug they fucked with so much shit avatars and every post has to be reprocessed for images.
like ur quote on yns has no avatar
i dont even know if that will be fixed unless u requote him or something
It’s 2019 dude - you have to get with the avatar and image standards. Discourse knows best.
its cool that discourse just runs imagemagick on everything that is posted instead of leeching images
It also converts the images to the optimal file format.
and saves them on the site instead of offsite
It was clearly an issue with the patch
Just hope they have a reason for it
I don’t think they realize they have customers with 200k post websites or whatever namafia has
It was a new image algorithm. Other people seems to complain as well. If the rrbake setting was not defaulted to 80 it would have been fine. It crippled my site.
I am complaining and they are being like defensive. like someone rejected their first ticket or something
Yes.
Now you’ve met Jeff.
Everything will be alright.
Stay positive. New year, new site.
Weird, I just noticed this cause I opened it on my computer, but the avatars in sigs still work in mobile but not on the desktop version
Probably different sizes or image styles.
Can we default the quick message off and have users opt in in their account settings.
