it really is a great movie

TRIGGER WARNING FOR JONES: DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT CLICK ON THE VIDEOS

Charlie Wilson's War (8/9) Movie CLIP - Anti-Helicopter Light Missile (2007) HD - YouTube

this is happening today, except with javelins. and instead of afghans and whatever that odd music choice was, it's Ukrainians, foreign volunteers, and hardbass. I think about this and it brings me happiness.

and instead of a Hind it's some shitty tank, like this. Boy that thing sure got demolished, huh?

Ukrainian Javelin Missile destroys Russian Tank - War in Ukraine - YouTube

If Russia wants the war to end all they have to do is fucking leave, the way they did in 1989

Wow this thead may make the new years awards

It's wrong and vulgar to celebrate death/war

US Govt/military is the biggest influencer of public sentiment (propaganda) on the internet, this isn't a conspiracy/schizo it is a known fact.

yeah but saying vague platitudes like "the cia spys on people" and "the american government is dishonest and uses propaganda" and using those statements to justify 'clearly osiris is the victim of a cia psyop' when his opinions have been pretty much proven correct throughout the entire war, i mean wow. the cognitive dissonance is stunning. yns and jones are BY FAR the most "propagandized" posters on this board and your opinions always seem to align with theirs (or they would if you'd ever have the courage to post them, instead you just vaguely attack whoever is disagreeing with them) sooo yeah.

the way you just sit back and follow your little playbook of --> post longwinded statement that includes a few truths and then assert that the bullshit part of your post is true. if faced with a post you have no good reply for, do one of two things: deflect with humour, or just fuck off and don't reply at all for 50 posts.

Osiris is probably the single most grounded and down to earth person on the forum, for you to say that is really absurd

edit: in hindsight that title may belong to huber but it's awfully close

I mean if your worldview is "people who hold mainstream or mainstream adjacent views are all brainwashed" that's a pretty good sign you have a warped view of the world

but who knows! because you never outright say what you really think. all i can do is speculate! how convenient for you, always getting to be the one sliding in and out of threads with little snipes or innocent "questions", while never presenting ANYTHING of your own that can even be attacked. it's a really great little thing you've had going for years

i mean there's so much wrong with this post

i'm gonna pull a reddit move and just ask is it wrong to celebrate the deaths of SS officers? of khmer rouge executioners?

that's some real paradox of tolerance shit, because you're saying it's morally wrong to celebrate the downfall of morally corrupt people, i'm not sure I agree with that

framing a brutal and totally unnecessary invasion, occupation, and attempted genocide as "war" and nothing more also rubs me the wrong way. there are so many layers to all the various conflicts in human history that just lumping them all into the category of "wars" is just suuuper reductive.

is celebrating the victory of the 300 (6,500 + athentians) Spartans wrong?

if your view is "it's distasteful when it's an ongoing conflict" i can fuck with that. the reality is i'm really upset by the whole thing, i really like russia's history and culture. sometimes i learn russian in my spare time. i'm not happy that innocent conscripts are dying horrific deaths. i was just bored and fucking around, trying to amuse myself more than anything else.

and it's fine to call me out on that, but it's strange you don't call out yns or jones on their frequent vile posts, like ever

I'm sorry but your post are too long

I saw this part though and appreciated it. Well done on this part

yeah well you don't have to read or respond to them now, i'm just really bored and i like typing dissertations on random forum posts. it's all good

Let's talk about the most grounded forum poster.

Who do you nominate?

Hubert Doobert is automatically disqualified for being a sex tourist/sex refugee

Anybody who has ever had an asian girlfriend is disqualified obviously

That leaves: Nmagane, who has never had a girlfriend. Grimelines (pending review of racial status of past relationships and community consensus on whether touring & having sex with your hot wife/gf counts as "sex tourism"). And Jones, who is still constantly getting grounded to this day (lives with his dad)

my dad was going to go to help repair destroyed buildings since he's worked construction his whole life, but they turned him down because he's 80 years old. (or rather the Canadian government refused to refer him to the Ukrainian embassy and basically said they'd turn him down and it was better not to waste their time as they were turning down anyone over 60)

well since you're down on huber i'll nominate grimelines from that pool, travelling the world tends to make people more down to earth

Did you dox me

On the contrary. Grimelimes would be a shoo-in if not for his current character arc, which I'm pretty sure he copy-pasted directly out of Eat, Pray, Love.

"Traveling" is just the current societally-endorsed form of materialism. It's the most un-grounded thing you can do: pass through a bunch of spaces as a disconnected observer, forming no real roots as you have no intention to stay in any one place for long, and contributing very little to these communities/cultures as you are really only there as a witness. Space cadet, floating around bumping into things, never putting your feet down anywhere, no real purpose or direction in life except to Look At Stuff. Did You See That Thing? I Saw That Thing. Here is a Photo of Me Looking At That Thing. (And See Here My Hot Wife Doing the Same.)

Meanwhile the actual grounded people in all of these interactions are the ones that you pass by in your travels - they live in these places, they have roots, family, culture, they work every day to continue living in these places, they probably don't stop to take photos. They probably don't "travel."

The ideal "traveller" is the emily in paris type - naiive, no real contribution to anything, but ineffably effervescent, absolutely thrilled to have discovered the "cwoissant," the "eiffel tower," the "man with no shirt on living in same apartment building." A bubble floating in the wind, landing nowhere, empty inside, but on close inspection you see a kind of distorted reflection of the world around it on its surface.

In the moderator backroom we maintain a full record of every poster for moderation purposes. Social media posts, past addresses, consensus attractiveness ratings of current & former girlfriends, etc

yes, some people do that, others have meaningful experiences that change them for the rest of their life, and DO truly connect to the local place they're at. Grimelines absolutely strikes me as the latter
