i really can't foresee an event where another draft is implemented. draftees are incredibly ineffective at fighting in foreign countries in modern wars (wars that aren't ideological or extermination based) and no one is going to invade the us for a lot of obvious reasons
i guess i could see drafting a bunch of swinging dicks into pog positions to free up the actual shitheads to eat shit

hurt the economy at home? everyone intelligent works a job that is completely non-existent. if they drafted people they would end up with a far more technically capable force.
they literally told everyone with an IQ of above 110 to not work during COVID and everything worked out just fine.

the people that get drafted are almost always poor dumbasses out of high school with no money for deferment or college. im not certain on the exactsies but yes if you've worked for corporations you understand about 75% of the employees are clerical/custodial/vestigial/worthless. the government cuts them breaks though ebcause they 'employ' people
volunteer deployed armies actually average like age 30 or something
and the people in the military (bar the special forces they push everyone competent into) are descendants of ameri-indian mestizo sun worshippers: you'd get better people drafting white people out of West Virginia
yea there's a reason i left after deployment (not that i had plans of being a lifer). the marines are a suicide cult, the chair force has chris, the army is mostly the rejects and shitheads (me), the navy is actually competent and mostly sane but also incredibly gay and treats their people like garbage. the special forces i do respect besides navy seals those clowns are divas and mostly good for just photo ops

yea idk about it really i had a buddy on a destroyer. he said the life was really tough and your co's are mostly ■■■■■■■■ and don't give a shit about your living conditions at all but he said most everyone else was competent
