  • Group Stage - August 15th - August 18th, 2018

    • All eighteen teams are divided into two groups where they play in a Round Robin format.
      • All matches are played in a Bo2.
      • The top four teams in each group advance to the Upper Bracket of the Main Event.
      • The bottom team in each group is eliminated.
      • The remaining teams advance to the Lower Bracket of the Main Event.

  • Main Event - August 20th - August 25th, 2018

    • Sixteen teams play in a double-elimination format over six days.
      • Eight teams begin in the Upper Bracket, eight in the Lower Bracket.
      • First Lower Bracket round is Bo1, Grand Finals are Bo5, all others rounds are Bo3.

Here’s the format, EG’s first game is in 15 minutes I think.

EG plays VG.J Thunder who haven’t been good in a while and just barely sneaked in with a DPC invite. If they don’t put up a good showing here I’ll be worried.

nice game from RTZ there but sumail had some very questionable plays on alch.

in other news, fnatic looked OK vs liquid but lost a couple fights vs spectre and couldn’t recover.

OG got annihilated by LGD.

iG vs Mineski didnt even have an official stream as far as i can tell.

production in terms of audio/video quality has been poor at best on the streams that actually do exist.

basically exactly what i expected from valvE!

fnatic destroys liquid 39-1 and could have 2-0d liquid if they didnt throw a big lead in game 1.

idk, i think its forgivable. its a 4day group stage already and idk what else they can do other than shortening the format, and I personally really like the round robin bo2s.
