world war 3 thread

Yeah I don't feel as crazy about slashing the hell out of it as I used to but we're basically paying a percentage of it to a body that isn't doing fuckin anything. Trump wasn't wrong, that's a fuckin crappy deal for the US if other nations that are closer to the communists won't take the lead in handling messes for us

Beauracracy for the sake of Beauracracy is a bad thing when it costs a ton and accomplishes nothing

Germany and the US are inclined not to intervene because they're the largest consumers of gas which makes the whole thing super ironic. At some point what does NATO accomplish in today's world? It might've been useful when we didn't have the internet and the ability to provide support on an asychronous level

People and (thanks to virtual signalling) companies are already doing a ton to "make a difference" in addition to the countries that are dope enough to do what they can. At this point NATO is practically useless outside of if we went to world war

I thought the point is it being a mutual defense treaty you can join to not get invaded

maybe people expect it to intervene in every war but that isnt supposed to be the point

as far as the money part goes idk havent read enough abouy it

like okay nato doesnt exist, do you not think there would be more wars?

i mean you guys spent 50 yrs playing world police too so everyone just kinda expects you to intervene in shit regardless

unrelated note I fuckin love the first 20 mins of Predator

what a movie

Nah probably not. Not to mention Ukraine made this announcement because one of Russians reasons against them was that they were going to become a NATO member too lmao

True I just think that these bodies formed before the internet with a lack of or competing incentives are totally useless. 2.5b dollars when Ukraine having just a 5th or less of that would be fucking massive. Why is it so expensive to run an organization that isn't really doing anything? Is it worth it to argue for it's value when the nations that could be receiving the value they take in would make wayy better use of funds?

you guys would be amazed at how much money and time can be wasted when you add military equipment to bureaucracy and give them nothing to do

nato only ever existed because of how scary and real the prospect of thousands of soviet tanks and apcs driving through the fulda gap was. i doubt russia would ever get closer to central europe at this point and nato is more a fuck russia buddy club

40 mil now

If I wanted to be a part of an exorbitant useless club I'd buy an expensive NFT

ok sorry for calling u a moron ■■■ you might be right on this one, arguably the expansion of NATO is a big part of what triggered Putin to go so crazy and we didn't need NATO for Russia to have been adequately contained anyhow
