Putin's an irrational guy whose mortal fear is losing all control and a horrific end. he'd sooner hit the button than survive losing everything
maybe that's a mortal fear we all share but we're not all painting targets on our back I guess

i dont think putin is irrational he's malicious vain and proud for sure
hitler wanted to enslave or destroy 2 1/2 continents and even wanted the german people to all die when he realized 'they lost the war'. he was an ideologist who fought a genocidal war exterminating as much of some cultures as he could. putin is greedy, vain, proud, and a bully but i don't think ideological or fanatical. i don't think you can really compare the two
if you're right ending the world as we know it would go down as the ultimate babyrage of all time if the truth managed to survive the apocalypse

i think he's more of a angleshooter with this type of stuff. i don't think he personally believes a lot of the stuff he says whereas hitler certainly did
i guess you could say he idealizes russian power projection
I think he lacks empathy and is extremely insecure, wants to appear strong at any cost. I donāt think using a small warhead on one city is beyond him.
Would we really be willing to wipe Russia off the map for that? Would we be willing to stomach the massive counter strike that would hit us? Iām not sure.
