he's been slowly making worse moves because of that thing I described, dude is getting more and more afraid of the future. But he was a "strong leader" of sorts to the people. Your criticisms of the stuff that happens under him is pretty much prevalent to all aspects of Eastern Europe and doesn't really have any salt as a result

You look at the GDP dip and say wow that's massive but there's a lot of unrecorded capital between the oligarchs likely helping fund this that is doing just fine and when you look historically at Russia's GDP you'll see that he still had a great effect on it until recently and people think he does a good job for that as well
