On most of the above points it's just general incompetence of american geopolitics (including the Afghan one which was, to me, that he just wanted to pull out of a complete black hole situation and it was always going to be a disaster - which ultimately he inherited - and lastly that it was a good thing, despite the terrible costs, to pull out of afghanistan -- In General, In My Opinion -- and that it was never going to be pretty)

The tragedy being a lot of afghans really wanted us there and needed our help to fight back against the taliban. The combination of us training them to fight with a us military level of logistical support and the corruption/infighting of the afghan tribal leaders and government doomed any long term chance of winning
