were humans op in vanilla? i remember humans and dwarves having an op racial (i think fear ward was the dwarf one) but i know nothing about horde so maybe they have op racials as well
fear ward was the priest racial for dwarf yeah - very funny how priests get a different ability per race.
I don’t think humans have anything that good though? I think they have Sword/mace spec, +5 spirit, and stealth detection
I think all races have good racials.

The best starting zone storywise (for me) is definitely Tirisfal Glades. The writing is very good.

I don’t view Vanilla as a game worth min/maxing in. I like the aesthetic of the alliance races and cities a lot better, and it’s nice feeling like the maligned good guy fighting the good fight as you get 4v1 raped to death by level 40 orc hunters and warriors on their first mounts in strangle thorn vale

I wasn’t talking about which is actually better, I was talking aesthetics. And, iirc, alliance was the far more populated (on most servers) and better faction in vanilla
Honestly, I’m 50/50. I’ve never had a level 45 or above horde toon on any vanilla patch, so I would be totally fine rolling them to experience that. My biggest con for horde is that I REALLY don’t want to level 1-25 again. Ever.
Alliance I had a 60 on retail vanilla and a shit ton of other toons so I pretty much know what I’m doing there.
If we do a strawpoll and the community chooses one way or the other, we should all do that and then just make an alt guild on the other faction for the others. easy

I do believe horde has better racials in vanilla but Paladins are overall better than Shamans, just less fun to play.
Their utility and ability to heal in plate is extremely valuable in battlegrounds and raids, they just have like one viable spec and it involves spamming ONE downranked healing spell. Totally boring, but really strong.
I can live with this, that’s what I vote we do as well. I’d prefer to play Ally but playing Horde with the boys would be more fun than playing Ally by myself.
