I got it for a free copy of Civ 6.
they almost got me with that 1 until i realized that my friends play with some of the dlc and on steam
i dont make fun of EGS users, but thatsj ust because i understand the appeal of half decent free games every month. i would rather pirate a game on it than install yet another client tho, sucks that its a multiplayer exclusive
while american companies arent better with our data, i feel like they should be and hopefully will get there so i try to atleast stick with american software, and usually europes as well because theyre pretty conscious about it
diabotical on egs did make me think about where my clients come from
epic games -- 48/40% owned by tencent (they have a weird agreement)
steam -- american owned
EA origin client -- only american groups shareholding as far as i see
activision/bnet -- tencent/china only has a small stake in it as far as i know? i think bnet and activision are just very proactive when it comes to pleasing big china because a lot of their revenue comes from china
ubi client -- ubisoft is french owned as far as i know?
