We have made a huge leap.
The model was good but I spent the last few days building the live trading infrastructure to pull live data, log it historically, adjust it for each rolling contract, and backfill missing data, blah blah a lot of boring stuff but critical to have a real trading system.
It's all done now, and I ran the bot for real for the first time yesterday and it executed 2 trades so far and my pnl is -1,200
The first was a loss about -1400 because it entered a trade and put in the stop / limit but I guess routing between the broker and exchange made the stop loss float in limbo so the price blew past my stop and maybe an hour later the exchange finally got my order and dumped way below my exit price, I patched that up and the next trade I made about $200 very promising.
All being done on paper trading for now to see and patch up these type of bugs you wouldn't encounter backtesting.
Anyway. It is looking very very promising.

What do you get? I can build an online dashboard and health check so you can log in to monitor your account progress, trades executed by the bot and developer notes in terms of improvements I am making and future enhancements I am working on and rolling out.

Nevermind, we are back in despair mode. The backtester was unrealistically written so it was easy for the bot to nail a high score, it's nowhere close to performing well once the backtester was adjusted to capture the real world scenarios and reran on the trained model

why not test this on penny stocks lol or just low amounts
I'm using a paper trading account, and I had historical data for crude oil to train on.
I can certainly try to train on penny stocks in the future for another model but this one was specific to oil.
I need to get the penny stock data and then try to build a pipeline to grab big pumps in penny stocks or low market cap stocks and train the model to find patterns of insider trading that might be easier said than done maybe if I'm a god I can find some repo of keyword history so I can also try to line up temporal frequency of a stock ticker as well to try to find correlation with a pump but this is a whole other animal that you need to design and build from what I am doing here.
Also Penny stocks have the problem with low liquidity
you would be better off just resampling or having AI generate synthetic data based off of what you have lmao why are you even humoring that dumb fuck idea

Very good short opportunity is coming within the next few days, I'm just not sure when. I want to purchase daily options but the price of the premiums are going to be astronomical. Premarket for crude oil is already +10% lol, it's going to be a choppy ass day.
I think the best move is to let this cook for a week and wait for the volatility to drop and then purchase right before the weekend. This admin loves to announce shit right before the weekend. The gamble here is will they make the price spike up more or drop? LOL.

My bot has been tuned up, backtester was fixed. I finally launched it officially today 3/2 and made 4k on my paper account.
I will continue to monitor the logs and tune the model, after 2-3 months I'm going to deploy it to my money account and put a sizable amount of capital in so I want to make sure this thing doesn't automatically blow up my account while I'm sleeping. So far so good...
