chess is far from “solved” by a computer
Solved in human terms.
would you like to play chess you big retard? are you any good at chess? you must be to speaking with such a tone of authority like you know so much about the game
I’m pretty rusty I stopped playing a few months back
Back to dota for a second - “Understanding the flow of the game” really means nothing at all, it’s simply filler words for people trying to describe dota’s repetitive gameplay.
Every game Flows the same unless you’re playing at the international.
What do you mean?
test
Chess isn’t a game in the same way cookie clicker isn’t a game. In no way this means chess is analogous to cookie clicker but it’s simply not right to call it a game.
This is all off topic as chess isn’t run by psychologists anyways.
To answer this question; what Isn't a joke is a game that provides a unique artistic and learning experience. (Physical games not included)
Something that is simply - and only - learning what to do at what time is not considered a game by definition - they're something else.
Psychologists at valve abuse the fact that those "things" can be done forever while guaranteeing the "player" (You're not playing anything) will gradually learn how to do what at what time better to sell their game and trick people into "playing" for as long as possible.
We all fell for it at one point but you have to snap out of it eventually.
you’re an idiot if you think chess isn’t a game
By physical games I mean games that involve physical effort because those are infinitely more complex than chess and dota
It’s a matter of definition. What’s your definition of game?
It’s the same question as “Is mathematics a science?” - Most people say no.
a form of play or sport, especially a competitive one played according to rules and decided by skill, strength, or luck.
you’ve been typing that reply for 5 minutes now it better be a good one
Alright. How does that apply to chess other than it having rules? You are just moving the pieces at the right time. If a computer told you what to do you would win 100% of the time, and “skill” is just learning what that computer would do.
If training yourself to be a computer is considered a skill we might as well all die.
No in fact it’s only been 2 minutes
It’s not a skill if there’s an objectively (99%) correct solution.
computers can beat each other and be superior to each other in chess. besides that, you are a human playing other humans and winning depends on your depth of game knowledge and ability to react to different situations/strategize correctly
